Thank you, Kathleen, for an insightful perspective on how we can get caught up in feeling that our worth is linked to what we achieve or produce. I think it's something that we're taught, and we carry this throughout our lives until we pause, reconnect, and discover our inherent worth 💜

This resonates so much as I, too, am in that phase. It is indeed the most uncomfortable question, but I am also realizing that self-rediscovery is essential to answering the question. I believe it's a continuous journey. And I agree, who we are doesn't need to be defined by our roles, success, or identities. Thank you for sharing Kathleen.

The hardest identities to surrender are rarely the ones the world gives us. They are the ones we quietly build around survival Kathleen. When achievement becomes the language through which we learn to measure our worth, stillness can feel less like rest and more like abandonment of self. Yet the courage to remain present, without applause, productivity or permission, may be the deepest achievement of all ❤️🙌!

This wasn’t just a beautiful piece, Kathleen. It held up a mirror that many of us spend a lifetime trying not to look into.

I appreciate that Kamal!

Hi Kathleen,

As someone always being the worker bee I don’t know if I’ve ever accomplished anything except to try and do the best I could do and bring home a paycheck. I don’t know if I’ll ever achieve that same grief as you or others.

I think doing the best you can do is the best kind of achievement, Robert 💗

Thank you Kathleen. ❤️Much of what I’ve done has been in the customer support area of IT and Telecommunications. I hope I’ve been able to assist with issues as needed. Whether in the higher ed or healthcare field.

I bet you’ve helped more than you realize!

Kathleen, this resonated deeply. After leaving a 25+ year corporate career, I realized I wasn’t just grieving a job—I was grieving an identity that had been built around achievement. One of the hardest lessons has been learning that my worth isn’t something I have to keep earning. Thank you for putting words to a question so many of us quietly carry.

I’m so glad to hear that. Those are some powerful lessons. Thank you for being here! 💗
